What is AileyCamp?
A six-week summer day camp where youth are introduced to dance and learn ballet, jazz, modern and tap.  AileyCampers also have classes in creative expression and personal development.  During the six weeks, AileyCampers increase their self-esteem, learn leadership skills and enjoy a variety of athletic and social activities.  They learn that dance is challenging, fun, helps them in other sports and in life!

Who is Eligible?
100 Boys and Girls, completing the 6th and 7th grades in spring, will be selected from applications received.  Students must be attending school in Missouri to attend camp at the Missouri site or attending school in Kansas to attend camp at the Kansas site.  Prior dance training is not a consideration for admission.

How are students selected?
After applications have been received by KCFAA, trained volunteers interview each student during scheduled visits at their school or at the KCFAA office. Each student is ranked during their interview based on need. No prior dance training is necessary. The selection process for AileyCamp is done based on this ranking in conjunction with other factors to ensure there is a balance at each camp of girls/boys, students from each school, and ethnicity.
